All Nippon Airways (ANA) will launch the first ever commercial flight of the B787 Deamliner this week. The one-off charter flight will make aviation history when it takes-off for Hong Kong from Tokyo’s Narita Airport on Wednesday 26 October, returning the following day. ANA will also begin special excursion flights at Narita on 28 and 29 October to give passengers a taste of the Dreamliner experience. The flights are available to ANA’s frequent flyers.
Regular commercial flights are set to begin in earnest next month. The aircraft will initially be launched on domestic routes from Tokyo Haneda to Okayama and Hiroshima on 1 November. Itami, Yamaguchi-Ube and Matsuyama will be added to the Dreamliner’s domestic network later in the year. The first regular international flights will commence in December with short-haul operations from Haneda to Beijing once a week. Then in January, ANA will begin long-haul international services from Haneda to Frankfurt.
