Thailand’s Dusit International has continued the expansion of its hotel portfolio in China, with the signing of a new resort in Sichuan province.
The company, through its Chinese subsidiary Dusit Fudu Hotels & Resorts, has agreed to manage a 150-room Dusit Princess Resort in Panzhihua. Opening in late 2016, this midscale property will become the first international resort in the city of Panzhihua, which is located in the far south of Sichuan province, close to the border with Yunnan.
“We welcome the Dusit Princess Resort Panzhihua… to our growing portfolio of Dusit Princess Hotels & Resorts around the world. The Dusit Princess Resort Panzhihua is an efficient, comfortable and affordable resort with the well-being of travellers in mind,” said Lim Boon Kwee, president of Dusit Fudu.
The new resort will offer 150 rooms, a restaurant, lounge and three function rooms. Other facilities will include a gymnasium, dance studio, kids’ club and activity room. There is also health centre within the resort that will offer traditional Chinese medical services.
And the resort will be joined by another Dusit hotel, the upscale Dusit Thani Panzhihua, in a large complex that will feature hot spring spa facilities, sports venues, a golf course, residences, a hospital, school and theme park.
At present Dusit operates five hotels and resorts in China, with 12 more in the pipeline.
