Dusit International has continued its international expansion with the signing of its first two hotels in Indonesia, both of which will be located in Bali.
Scheduled to open in 2018, the new-build dusitD2 Sunset Road and dusitD2 Kuta Beach will rise in the island’s popular Kuta area, within 30 minutes’ drive of the airport. Combined, the two projects will feature approximately 750 keys.
This announcement continues the rapid expansion of Dusit’s portfolio, following the recent opening of new hotels in the UAE and China, the return of the D2 brand to Phuket, the signing of its first-ever European project in Istanbul, and the announcement of plans for a significant expansion in Myanmar.
And Dusit’s chief operating officer, Lim Boon Kwee, said the D2 brand, which focuses on modern, high-tech amenities, would be a good fit for Bali.
“We are delighted to… bring the dusitD2 brand to Indonesia,” said Lim stated. “With its “plug n’ play” facilities, free Wi-Fi, and modern design, our next generation dusitD2 brand is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of the young, tech-savvy travellers who make up the majority of the island’s 10 million annual foreign visitors. We look forward to welcoming them in 2018.”
dusitD2 Sunset Road is set between Kuta and Seminyak, 15 minutes from the beach. It will feature 380 rooms plus 100 additional units operating as a separate “condotel”. dusitD2 Kuta Beach meanwhile, is positioned in the centre of Kuta and will comprise 278 rooms across two buildings. Both projects will feature restaurants, rooftop bars and leisure facilities.
At present, Dusit operates D2 properties in Thailand, China, Kenya, the US and UAE. But the brand is expanding rapidly, with plans for new D2s in Bhutan, China, Mongolia, Myanmar, Oman, the Philippines, Qatar, Thailand and UAE.
