East Indonesian airports operate new radar

The new facilities, which are centered at Sultan Hasanuddin airport in Makassar, cost the government RP 150 billion (US$14.56 m).
The navigation system comprises new radars for Sultan Hasanuddin airport,Juanda Airport in Surabaya, Sepinggan Airport in Balikpapan and Syamsuddin Noorin Banjarmasin, an air traffic control (ATC) system in Ngurah Rai airport inDenpasar and Juanda airport and an air traffic service center (MATSC) in SultanHasanuddin airport.
President director of airport operator PT Angkasa Pura I, Bambang Darwoto, saidthe new facilities would help the company improve air traffic control servicesand flight safety in the country.
