Egypt receives 64.9% more Saudi tourists

The renewed strategy adopted by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Egyptian Tourism Authority is paying dividends. The result of which is certainly a significant rise in number of incoming tourists.
The country welcomed 8,197,917 tourists during the first 10 months of 2014 a one percent increase compared to 2013. Inbound tourism witnessed an increase during October with a 79.5% increase in global tourists. 558,687 tourists visited Egypt in 2013 and that figure grew to 1,002,928 in 2014.
Additionally, number of Arab tourists who visited Egypt also reached 162,264 a growth of 35.1%, compared to 120,123 tourists in 2013. Saudi Arabia recorded a growth in tourists visiting Egypt in October 2014. About 33,113 Saudi tourists visited in October 2014 an increase of 98.1% compared with 16,715 tourists in October 2013. Statistics also revealed that number of Saudi tourists increased by 64.9% compared to 2013, where number of Saudi tourists increased from 177,179 to 292,239.
The UAE saw a similar increase where 4,085 Emirati tourists visited which is an increase of 104.3% compared with 2,000 tourists in October 2013. Statistics also indicate a 72.7% rise in overall number of Emirati tourists visiting Egypt during the first 10 ten months of the year, which increased from 15,746 in 2013 to 27,199 in 2014. Kuwaiti tourists visiting Egypt in October 2014 also grew with 13,129 visitors resulting in an increase of 84.6% compared with 7,114 tourists in October 2013. The number of Kuwaiti tourists visiting Egypt increased by 44.8%, while 96,599 Kuwaiti tourists have visited so far this year compared to 66,714 tourists in 2013.
