Egyptair resumes Baghdad services after 21 years

EgyptAir has launched flights to Baghdad, marking its return to the Iraqi capital after 21 years.Baghdad International Airport director general Ali Jawad told AP that about 30 passengers arrived on the commercial airline’s Saturday flight.EgyptAir will fly four flights to Baghdad weekly and three to Irbil in the country’s northern Kurdish region.The airline suspended flights to Iraq in 1990 prior to the first Gulf War.Other airlines to have joined the rush to launch services to Iraq include Austrian Airlines, Etihad Airways, Gulf Air and Turkish Airlines.
