EL AL Israel Airlines and sister company Superstar Holidays brought 16 travel industry members to Israel to be hosted by Tamares Hotels and Resorts. The five-day trip gave the guests a taste of Israel which included a tour of Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.
Tamares are gearing up for increased traffic to Israel as airfares are expected to drop. With Tel Aviv becoming busier, the surrounding coastal towns of Herzliya, Netanya and Ashdod are proving popular.
EL AL has a dedicated check-in zone, boarding gate area and security services at Heathrow, plus a premium lounge service, known as the King David Lounge. Flights from London Heathrow are currently operated by a three-class Boeing 777-200 aircraft with the introduction of new Boeing 787 Dreamliners scheduled to begin operation on select flights to London in September.
The flights from London Heathrow to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion are operated twice a day from Sunday through until Thursday. All food on board is kosher.
The first port of call for the group was West Lagoon Resort, the latest of six properties owned by Tamares which opened in June 2017, in Netanya, a coastal town 30 kilometres north of Tel Aviv. The 261-room hotel is fitted with modern Israeli architecture and has a gym, pool and spa. Six room types are featured at this property, such as Deluxe, Club, Executive and Presidential.
The hotel is also in the process of finalising construction of its Jonah Club event space with two bars that span the length of the hotel and a panoramic view of the city of Netanya and the Mediterranean Sea.
The Daniel Dead Sea hotel is a 302 room-property which is a short walk from the southern tip of the Dead Sea and features the brand signature Shizen Spa, which uses water from the Dead Sea. The property also offers a Solarium which sits above the main pool area, separated by gender as under Jewish law.
The Fam Trip was enabled by Superstar Holidays, EL AL Israel Airlines’ in-house tour operation.
