Elegant Hotel Group has launched a new training programme and rewards scheme for travel agents.
Its online training scheme will be officially launched on 18 December with Equator, where agents are able to stack up points to swap for nights at its Caribbean properties. There will be six modules and regular newsletters, with pre-registration available now through eleganthotelstraining.com.
“60% of our business comes from the UK and we already had this rolled out with tour operators, so not travel agents can get involved too,” Mark Campbell, CEO of Elegant told Travel Daily.
The scheme comes as the hotel chain continues to revamp its properties, withCampbell looking to add a little “more Barbados” into the hotels through F&B, activities and tours.
“The key to our success has been to invest in product otherwise things go downhill,” he said. “Barbados is our home so there is an opportunity to provide unique ways to experience the country.”
Continuous updates are being made to its latest opening, The House, with plans to recreate the boutique hotel to its original features after its first design pitch was found. Its service will also be taken up another level to a ‘butler’ style similarly to before, while its breakfast has been moved to the deck and a beach barbecue will be launched.
Meanwhile the Colony Club has re-opened after revitalising its pool areas and moving the deck dining closer to the beach. Next year it will also see a new spa added based around themes of botanical, garden and beach. The hotel group has seen a balance of B&B and all-inclusive business across its properties in the last year.
