Elegant Hotels Group has announced its Colony Club resort is to undergo a renovation under a modern, sustainable and cultural approach.
The Barbados resort is to redecorate its rooms with a ‘luxury residential feel’ during the changes, which will also see its Laguna restaurant renovated to be an espresso lounge during the day and cocktail space at night.
Its second focus will be the addition of an organic garden to the resort, with its produce to be used in the kitchens.
“Our concepts are focused on nature such as the amenities in the rooms, while our clients are keen to eat healthy so the menus will reflect that,” explained Sylvia Scholey, vice president of sales, marketing and ecommerce for Elegant at a recent media event.
Its focus on the natural will continue with new cultural tours for guests which will explore the old town and a new ‘rum discovery’ tour where guests can sample the ingredients of rum and the end product themselves. Sustainability will also remain as a top priority with new voluntourism tours launched.
“The House was redone recently and has been well received so we are looking forward to the new Colony Club,” said Scholey.
“We are also looking at launching a concierge service on our website, not an app, where people can see events, activities and reservations through their mobile phone while in the resorts as mobile use is extremely high. There are also plans to launch a gift registry for honeymoons,” she added.
Colony Club is to close this summer ready for a relaunch on 1 October.
