In light of the festive week, Emirates added more capacity on its Bahrain and Qatar routes.
The airline deployed its Airbus A380 to Bahrain International Airport and Hamad International Airport as a one-off service. The special A380 flights were at full capacity, supporting sizable traffic over the Eid Holiday period.
This is the first time Emirates deployed an A380 to Qatar while it was the third time the A380 landed in Bahrain.
Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, divisional senior vice president commercial operations centre said: “Emirates is currently operating a one-off ad-hoc Airbus A380 services to Bahrain and Doha due to significant demand travel. Although, we have no immediate plans to operate an A380 on those routes in the near future.”
Emirates has carried over 430,000 passengers to and from Doha from January of this year. In its first seven months of operations for 2015, Emirates carried over 225,000 passengers to and from Bahrain, and serves the destination with 28 weekly services.
