Emirates’ second daily A380 Heathrow-Dubai service will take off two weeks earlier than planned following an early delivery of the aircraft. From 15 June the new ‘superjumbo’ will operate on Emirates’ 2040hrs service from Heathrow, arriving at Duabi International at 0630hrs the following day (local time). “Our passengers are giving the A380 rave reviews and we’re delighted to be able to introduce a second superjumbo service from London earlier than planned,” said Emirates Vice President UK and Ireland Conrad Clifford. The airline will also introduce a daily A380 flight from Manchester to Dubai from 1 September. Emirates has nine A380s, which have 14 flat-bed First Class Private Suites, 76 fully-flat seats in Business Class with mini bars and 427 Economy Class seats, plus, uniquely, an onboard lounge and onboard shower spas. Each seat has the ice entertainment system, a satellite phone with sms and email capabilities, seat-to-seat calling and a ‘My USB’ picture viewing facility. An A380 already operates on Emirates 1415 Heathrow-Dubai service. Another will operate to Beijing from 1 August and one of the aircraft will be re-introduced onto New York (JFK) services from 31 October.
