As Emirates enters its third decade of operations to Doha, the stalwart airline is closing in on the seven million passenger mark.
Since inaugurating the route in January 1994, the Qatari capital has become one of the carrier’s most frequently serviced routes, second only to Bangkok. Today, Emirates operates six flights a day to Doha and has carried more than 6.8m passengers in 20 years of service.
“This is a significant achievement. Markets that are just a short flight from our home of Dubai are just as important as the medium and long range destinations, which is why we have constantly invested in upgrading the aircraft, product and frequencies on this route to bring the very best value for money,” said Sheikh Majid Al Mualla, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of commercial operations.
Serving the city with a combination of Airbus A330-200, Airbus 340-500, Boeing 777-300 and Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, Emirates’ most popular destinations beyond Dubai for travellers departing Doha are: Manila, Kozhikode, London Heathrow, Hyderabad, Cairo, Jakarta, Dhaka, Kochi and Trivandrum.
It’s a similar list of gateways for the passengers Emirates carries into Doha.
