Emirates first Airbus A380 overhauled

In a first of its kind activity, Emirates Engineering team completed a 3C-Check on the first Airbus A380 delivered to the airline. This is a significant maintenance operation undertaken to by the division.
The entire process took 55 days and two teams that worked on the aircraft stripping the entire interior to refitting all the components.
“The entire check is meticulously planned with no room for delays. Grounding an aircraft for such a long time is a big expense which means that our engineering teams must work efficiently,” said Colin Disspain, vice president of base engineering at Emirates.
The check was completed with a test flight before being put back into regular service, in this case, taking off to Brisbane and Auckland.
