Etihad Airways has announced that it will add three weekly flights to its Manchester schedule this summer. The airline will offer 10 flights a week on the Manchester-Abu Dhabi route, which is operated by B777-300ERs. Manchester Airport has welcomed the move. “Coming so soon after the opening of the new lounge in Terminal 1, this is welcome news for passengers from the north west,” said Andrew Harrison, managing director for Manchester Airport. “It improves access to Etihad’s range of long haul services with connections available through Abu Dhabi to a global network that includes destinations like Sydney, Melbourne, Bangkok, Cape Town and Islamabad.” Meanwhile, Etihad also announced that its Paris route will become a double daily service with four new flights and its Geneva, Milan and Beijing routes will become daily (from five flights a week). Services to Brussels, Bangalore and Chicago will also see an increase in capacity.
