Etihad Airways will launch direct flights to Dallas in 2014.
The Texas hub will become the airline’s fifth destination in the US when services commence on 3 December next year. Flights will operate three times a week using a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft.
“The United States is one of Etihad Airways’ most important global markets and we are delighted to add Dallas, a key US destination and hub, to our flight network, bringing the number of American cities we will serve to five by the end of 2014,” said James Hogan, Etihad’s president & CEO. “The new service will also strengthen the deep commercial and bilateral ties between the United Arab Emirates and the United States.”
Flights will depart Abu Dhabi every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 0945, arriving at Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport at 1630. The return service will leave Dallas at 1845, getting back into the UAE capital at 1950 the following day.
Dallas will become the second new US destination added to Etihad’s route map in 2014, with flights to Los Angeles due to commence on 1 June next year. The carrier already flies to Chicago, New York and Washington DC.
The B777 operating the Dallas route will feature a three-class configuration with eight seats in first class, 40 in business class and 189 in economy.
