Etihad Airways has received regulatory approval for a new codeshare agreement with American Airlines. The agreement comes into effect this week, in time for Etihad’s launch of flights to Chicago on 2 September. Etihad Airways will place its ‘EY’ code on a number of transatlantic services operated by the US carrier, as well as selected US domestic services. In turn American will place its own ‘AA’ code on services operated by Etihad between Abu Dhabi and New York, Chicago, Paris, Dublin, Frankfurt, Manchester and Milan.
