Eco-conscious travellers “train & sustain” in Phuket at the Akyra sustainability boot camp
AKARYN Hotel Group, has launched a new sustainable beach fitness programme as the company continues to reinforce its commitment to wellbeing and responsible tourism.
The new three-day health and sustainability boot camp is hosted in partnership with Bangkok’s first sustainable fitness studio, The Lab, and a series of other like-minded companies, including JC Worldwide Enterprise, the brand management and event planning company; Guava Pass, which organises elite fitness classes; Socialgiver, the socially-responsible lifestyle and travel platform; and Wine Connection Thailand, the leading chain of wine-themed shops and restaurants in Asia.
“Healthy and responsible stays”
“akyra is committed to providing healthy and responsible stays for guests who share our values. The sustainable beach fitness retreat combines our core values of social and environmental awareness with personal wellness to create a fulfilling experience set against the beautiful backdrop of southern Thailand’s pristine coast,” said Anchalika Kijkanakorn, managing director and founder of AKARYN Hotel Group.
Hosted at the company’s owned and managed akyra Phuket Beach Club, the Bootcamp will take place from 13-15 October 2018 and guests will be able to enjoy a full programme of activities that combine personal wellness with responsible local activities, all in a fun and sociable atmosphere.
This unique retreat will kick off with welcome drinks, followed by an “Amazing Race Beach Boot Camp” on the sandy shores of Natai Beach, in southern Thailand. Later that evening, guests will gather for sunset drinks at the resort’s beach bar, with a live DJ set, fire show and special surprises.
Day two will start early with a sunrise boot camp from 6am. After breakfast, guests will take a trip to Khao Pilai School to take part in a fun, educational session with the local kids. Attendees will also help children understand the problem of plastic waste through games and presentations before enjoying lunch.
Back at the resort, a series of group competitions will aim to explore solutions to important environmental questions, after which guests can either visit the Ayurah Spa for a relaxing head and shoulder massage, or simply chill out with sunset drinks at the beach club. The fulfilling day ends with a healthy dinner right by Natai Beach overlooking the Andaman Sea.
The third and final day focuses more on wellness activities with sunrise yoga and mindfulness sessions, followed by a guided beach walk. Guests are then free to enjoy the luxurious tropical surroundings until they check-out and return to Bangkok.
The Train & Sustain Boot Camp at akyra Phuket Beach Club is offered at an inclusive rate of THB5,000 for two nights, based on two people sharing a Deluxe Room. All meals, non-alcoholic beverages and organised activities are included. A single supplement of THB1,000 is applicable for solo guests, and villa upgrades are also available for THB1,000 per night.
