Expedia’s Travel Agents Affiliate Program (TAAP) has announced changes in the commission structure for its members. From 1 October 2011, Expedia TAAP will increase the commission on air bookings when booked as part of a package. Agents will earn 10% or more on land content and 1.5% on air content for Expedia package bookings, regardless of the airline booked, including low-cost carriers. Conversely, Expedia will stop paying commission on bookings for standalone flights.
“The massive expansion of destinations supported by our airline partners has vastly increased our capacity and competitiveness in all regions” said Stuart Udy, Expedia’s Manager of Travel Agent Distribution. “We provide great package product to our Agency partners and enable them to take advantage and earn great commission on the fabulous rates on Expedia.”
Expedia TAAP now operates in 15 markets around the world with over 17,000 travel agencies enrolled in the programme.
