About the leadership opportunity – Full time role – based in Sydney or Melbourne 

This is a fantastic opportunity to lead an expanding team nationally and play a key role in the exciting return of corporate and specialist group travel across the Australian market. We are looking for an authentic leader who can drive business performance and efficiency as well as foster a team culture of fun, collaboration, diversity, creative thinking, and customer centricity. 

Reporting to FCM Meeting and Events General Manager you will be a part of the FCM M&E SWOT team.

The Group Travel National Business Leader is the customer, operational and technical expert.  

You will lead with a customer-centric mindset and display sound commercial and business sense to drive customer success, employee satisfaction and business goals. 

This role is instrumental in the development and performance of the team nationally including a strong focus on productivity and customer growth & retention.  

Lead by example by building and maintaining collaborative and trusted relationships both internally and externally. 

Help define and continually improve one best way financial processes and workflow. 

Responsible for risk management through assessing, troubleshooting and providing creative solutions across a varying range of customer scenarios. 

Strong communication, superior presentation and negotiation skills. 

Superior knowledge of FCM Meeting and Events marketing, pricing and product strategies. 

Deliver valuable insights and expertise on the industry to the business and customers. 

All about you: 

GDS – SABRE  

Microsoft Office skills – essential specifically Excel 

Group booking platforms – VA GSO and Qantas Groups experience is non-essential 

Event Management Technology – EventsAir experience is non-essential 

Project Management Software – wrike experience is non-essential 

Proven successful leadership experience is essential 

Minimum 5 years in the MICE and travel industry 

Previous experience in customer facing roles
