About the Opportunity
Discova is looking for an experienced, energetic, and creative person to join our success story in Tokyo. As a member of the Japan leadership team, the Sales and Reservations Manager is responsible to develop and lead the sales and reservations functions, creating and maintaining a high-performing diverse team and sales culture. In collaboration with the Team Leaders you will be focused on delivering a consistent and excellent customers sales and service experience to our overseas clients and agents. Together with the Country leadership team, you will use your initiative and share ideas on product development, systems, revenue growth and lead a multicultural and diverse team.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the agent and customer sales experience (CSE) is consistently followed by all team members.
Be responsible for the standard of communication to clients and updating them on promotions, new products, and destinations.
Providing guidance ensuring all agent and customer complaints are dealt with in a professional, accurate and timely manner.
Design sales strategy acquire new business and organically grown exiting the business (domestic, Regional Asia and International)
Work closely with Product and Marketing Departments to develop and maintain content as per business needs.
Identify agents’ /customer needs in order to build and maintain a database of suitable products.
Work closely with Purchasing, Product, and Operations Departments to replace and renovate products with low margin.
Cooperate with Product and Purchasing Department to identify/deal with outsource suppliers to develop new products and best promotions.
Define sales strategy acquire new business and organically grown exiting business and monitor the preferred product portfolio and develop the road map how to increase sales.
Collaborate with sales offices to assist in creating strong pitches and presentations to win the account, including but not limited to tariffs and quotations for new programs.
Create and implement a pricing matrix.
Lead by example in behavior, attitude, and performance and create an environment where people feel supported, connected, and empowered.
Empower team members to take ownership of their work through appropriate delegations and training.
About you:The Essentials:
A degree in tourism and hospitality is an advantage.
5+ years experience in the tourism and hospitality industry in a management position.
Fluent in both written and spoken English is required and other languages would be an advantage.
Management training or experience in leading teams is essential and within Buffalo Tours an advantage.
In-depth tourism industry knowledge with expertise in Asia is required.
An understanding and belief in Responsible Tourism are desirable.

Solid collaboration and communication skills (verbal and written).
High attention to detail & strong time/priority management skills.
Strong interpersonal and presentation skills across cultures.
A flexible rotating roster that may include late nights, weekends, and early mornings and flexible with uncertainties/changing priorities and under pressure.
Willing to travel on business when required
Proficient with Microsoft Office applications
Fluent in written and verbal in both Japanese language and English.
