(Shanghai, September 11, 2009) - An extensive facelift styled by international architects has catapulted Wuxi’s iconic lakeside Juna Hubin Hotel to the forefront of China’s 5-star scenic hotels.
A stunning new sail-shaped wing now complements the picturesque location and vast Chinese gardens beside the famous Lihu Lake, incorporating a state-of-the-art spa and the largest pillar-less ballroom in Wuxi, the city known as “little Shanghai”. ‘Everlasting Spa’, a brand new spa has also been launched in the hotel, which is a haven for oriental pampering, offering Chinese, Japanese and Thai spa treatments and massages.
Also newly renovated and re-opened is its Camphor Club fitness and recreation centre — complete with an indoor lake view swimming pool, sauna, karaoke parlor, gym and library.
The new-look Juna Hubin is now transformed into a stylish “oasis of tranquility enforcing its reputation as a leading leisure as well as business and conference venue at the forefront of both Wuxi’s and China’s luxury hospitality sector”, said Madame Zhu Xiaoxia, Chairman of Juna Hotels Group.
Commanding panoramic views of Lihu Lake and surrounding hills, Juna Hubin Hotel has a rich history. Three prominent villas dating back to the 1920s and 1930s were first converted into the hotel in 1978.
The original East Wing is complimented by a spectacular new West Wing, designed by Brian Elsden Burrows Architects of Canada.
The new ‘sail’ tower incorporates 291 new guest rooms, several restaurants and the largest pillar-less ballroom in Wuxi, embracing 1,450 square meters. Five other conference rooms create versatile settings for banquets, meetings, conferences and exhibitions over a total space of over 3,500 square meters.
The hotel now boasts a total of 482 elegantly appointed guest rooms in its two towers and three villas.
In Juna Hubin Hotel, superb cuisine remains a signature, its fine Wuxi cuisine and celebrated Taihu Lake delicacies are amongst the best in town.
For many years, the hotel has been famed for ‘Superior Hubin Cuisine, A True Taste of a Land of Plenty’, specializing in classical Wuxi delicacies as well as the cream of regional cuisines from all over China.
The hotel’s many award-winning dishes include ‘Wuxi Spare Ribs’, which enjoys nationwide fame after winning the gold award at China Beijing International Food & Drink Processing & Packing Equipment Exhibition in 1995. It has since become a celebrated signature dish for both the Juna Hotels Group and Wuxi. The hotel’s ‘Emperor Qianlong’s Southern Inspection Tour Banquet’ is also famed, causing a sensation among gourmets when it was served in Singapore and Hong Kong.
Madame Zhu added: “Wuxi Juna Hubin Hotel continues to draw inspiration from the rich cultural heritage of this land of plenty. We open our arms to welcome guests from all around to enjoy the great views, appreciate our superior Wuxi Cuisine and Taihu Lake delicacies, experience the luxury amenities and have a wonderful time in this accessible paradise.”
In the picturesque Lihu Lake scenic area, the hotel is sandwiched between the historic Liyuan Garden with exquisite, classical pavilions and the ‘Star of Taihu Lake’ Ferris Wheel.
