Arab conglomerate Faruk Group Holding has revealed plans to make Sulaymaniyah in Iraqi Kurdistan a key destination.The group unveiled a roadmap for Sulaymaniyah’s hospitality industry at ATM, with various hotel projects including Grand Millennium Sulaymaniyah, Copthorne Hotel Baranan and Copthorne Hotel and Spa previewed.Faruk Mustafa Rasool, chairman of Faruk Group Holding said: “Iraq is a promising market. Our operations in Sulaymaniyah will support not only our entry into the market but also the global business community.”Grand Millennium Sulaymaniyah, Copthorne Hotel Baranan and Copthorne Hotel and Spa are major projects funded by more than US$400 million. Since it was established, Faruk Group Holding has been aiming to enter new markets while supporting local business in Iraq. The company also operates Asiacell, Iraq’s dominant mobile phone operator covering all 18 governorates.
