Fernandes bids for Premiership club

The Air Asia CEO is plotting to buy premiership football team Queens Park Rangers (QPR). Tony Fernandes already owns Formula One race team, Team Lotus, and plans to extend his sporting business to the Barclays Premier League. According to the Daily Mail, Fernandes is fielding a controlling bid for QPR, worth an estimated GBP100 million (US$164 million). The business tycoon has already toured the south London stadium, Loftus Road, and met with team manager Neil Warnock to discuss a player transfer budget.
