Finnair and airberlin have extended their codeshare relationship to include the Helsinki-based carrier’s new Singapore route. airberlin’s flight code will be added to Finnair’s Helsinki-Singapore service, which launches on 30 May 2011. The move follows the recent addition of Finnair’s Helsinki-Delhi services to the carriers’ codeshare agreement. In turn, Finnair codeshares on several airberlin services within Europe.
“Cooperation with airberlin gives Finnair a stronger foothold in central Europe, which in turn supports Finnair’s Asian strategy significantly,” said Hannu Sundberg, Finnair’s Vice President of Airline Partnerships. “Through this cooperation many fast, new connections from German-speaking central Europe to Asia will be opened up to airberlin’s customers.”
