Finnair has launched a new interline agreement with Jetstar, expanding its connections in Asia Pacific. The cooperation, which started in December 2010, allows customers to purchase a Jetstar, Jetstar Asia, Valuair or Jetstar Pacific flight as part of a single integrated transaction and travel itinerary through Finnair’s distribution network, sold as a Finnair E-ticket.
Finnair customers will be able to connect to Jetstar’s network in Osaka, Bangkok, Hong Kong and in May 2011 also Singapore, when Finnair commences its daily A330 operations to the Lion City. The new Finnair-Jetstar interline agreement will also improve access and capacity to Australia and New Zealand.
“The Finnair clientele in Northern Europe benefits greatly of the new destination coverage in Australasia provided by the Jetstar service network. The new interline agreement makes traveling to and from the destinations covered by the new partnership easy and convenient, and provide real value for the traveling customers. This cooperation complements greatly the new Finnair service to the new hub of Jetstar, Singapore, commencing May 2011,” said Paavo Virkkunen, Finnair’s Vice President Alliances & Global Partnerships.
