Finnair has announced that it will suspend its Helsinki-Mumbai services from May until mid-October 2009.
Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation quoted Finnair’s Vice President – Network Strategies, Petteri Kostermaa, as saying; “The overcapacity has driven air fare levels radically down and cost level has not declined respectively. Market conditions for the entire summer period look bleak. Summer is clearly more difficult than winter season on the Mumbai route.”
The Mumbai route is currently operated four times per week.
