Load factors on Finnair’s Asian routes slumped 8.9 percentage points in January 2011, as demand failed to match the airline’s increased capacity. The Finnish national carrier added 20.3% more capacity on its Asian routes in January 2011, compared to the same month in 2010. Demand for the carrier’s Asian flights only increased 7.3% however, which caused Finnair’s load factor to slump from 82.3% in January 2010 to just 73.4% last month.
