Rosewood Hotels & Resorts has assumed management of its first Italian property, Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany.
The 800-year-old estate features the ruins of castle, medieval church and the Borgo village located in the Val d’Orcia UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Now 23 suites sit within the buildings and farmhouses have been restored to become 10 villas.
“Massimo and Chiara Ferragamo have created a world-class resort that is authentic, stylish and historic. We look forward to working with them to build on their success and to invite a new audience to discover Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco,” said Radha Arora, president of Rosewood. “Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco is a celebration of the beauty, landscape and rich gastronomic heritage of Tuscany and it is also the perfect illustration of Rosewood’s trademark A Sense of Place philosophy.”
The Italian addition is the hotel group’s third opening in Europe, following the Rosewood London in October 2013 and the Hôtel de Crillon in Paris which is currently going through restoration.
