First London-New York bus departs

The first bus journey from London to New York departed from Cleopatra’s Needle last weekend.Twenty passengers, ranging from an 18-year-old student to an 81-year-old grandmother, boarded the Oz-Bus to make the 96-day trip. It will cover three continents, 16 countries and 12 American states. Covering 15,000 miles, the bus is currently going through Europe to Russia, where passengers will board the Tran-Siberian Railway for part of the trip. The bus also stops at China, where the travellers will get a 16-night Diamond Princess cruise to Alaska. The final U.S. stretch will pass through The Great Lakes, Chicago, the Yellowstone National Park and San Francisco before arriving in New York City on 24th June.
