Footsteps in Asia opens Australia office
Asian tour operator Footsteps in Asia has opened a new office in Australia.
The new office will manage local bookings for the company’s 2012 program of 50 Southeast Asian tours, including 23 tours of Vietnam.
John Powell, Footsteps in Asia’s CEO, said the new office is part of the company’s strategy of providing high margins and support to travel agents who direct online bookings through Footsteps in Asia.
As an incentive, travel agents are being offered 15% commission on all tours booked online, and 10% if it’s part of a promotion.
Powell and his team project that 250,000 Australians will visit Vietnam this year, with strong interest in luxury river cruising on the Mekong, Halong Bay boat tours, culinary holidays, and adventure travel including walking, trekking and cycle tours.
Footsteps in Asia now has offices in Australia, Vietnam, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.
