Foreign firms eye Oman airport contracts

Firms including South Korea’s Hanjin Heavy Industries and India’s Dodsal have been qualified to bid for three Omani airport contracts, Reuters reported officials saying on Wednesday. Deals for three airports - Salalah, Sohar and Duqm - are likely to be in excess of OMR500 million (US$1.3 billion). An official of local firm Desert Line was awarded the Phase One of Duqm airport at OMR27.2 million in June.
