Fortune magazine has released its list of America’s Most Admired Companies for this year which includes a few travel industry categories.
In the Hotels, Casinos and Resorts category, Marriott International came in top, followed by Wyndham Worldwide, MGM Mirage, Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Hilton Hotels.
In the airline category, Southwest Airlines topped the category, with Continental Airlines, Alaska Air Group, JetBlue Airways and AMR wrapping up the list.
Under the Internet Service and Retailing sector, IAC/InterActiveCorp came in first followed by Google, Expedia and Amazon.com.
To produce the listings, 15,000 top executives, directors and analysts were asked to rate all Fortune 1,000 companies in their own industry on eight criteria. A company’s score must rank in the top half of its industry survey to appear in the listing and only the best are listed as a Most Admired Company. The full list of companies appears in the March 17 edition of Fortune.
