Four Seasons Hotel Singapore is set to open its renovated rooms in early July 2018, following enhancements by interior designers Hirsch Bedner Associates, who led the renovations of the Jiang-Nan Chun restaurant in 2016 and the opening of the Hotel in 1994.
Influenced by the nearby Singapore Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the interiors of the newly renovated rooms feature a natural colour palette with cool blue tones and lime green accents, inspired by the water and tropical lotus leaves of the Garden’s Swan Lake.
Each room features a mural of traditional Peranakan tiles, reminiscent of Singapore’s heritage. Peranakan culture represents the union between two major ethnicities of the Straits Peninsula – Chinese immigrants who came to Malaya, which was a result of Singapore’s historical significance as a major trading port.
All rooms and suites feature large floor-to-ceiling windows providing sweeping views of the city’s shopping district and commercial centre. Deluxe Rooms have views of the surrounding greenery, while the Boulevard Rooms have views of the bustling Orchard Road. The Premier Rooms have semi-wraparound bay windows, bathrooms with marble furnishings and the latest in hospitality technology.
The Four Seasons Executive Suite has separate living and sleeping areas, and a spa-like bathroom. The suites feature white colonial-style doors and windows with plantation shutters, reminiscent of Singapore’s history. The Hotel’s One-Bedroom Suites have their own private living space, for families who require additional space or corporate travellers wishing to host business meetings.
The dining options at the Hotel include Jiang-Nan Chun, renovated in 2016 and led by Chinese executive chef Tim Lam. The mesquite wood-roasted Peking Duck served with caviar, double-boiled soups and dim sum are menu signatures. The Hotel also has an array of leisure facilities such as a rooftop pool on the 20th floor, four indoor and outdoor tennis courts, and a 24-hour fitness centre.
In addition to the extensive room renovation debuting in early July 2018, the hotel has announced plans to renovate four themed Suites, including the Presidential Suite, scheduled for completion September 2018.
