Four Seasons has expanded its tented camp in northern Thailand with the addition of a new Explorer’s Lodge.
Set in the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos converge at the Mekong River, the new Explorer’s Lodge has been created to help the luxury resort better accommodate families.
Billed as a “safari-style lodge”, it features two bedrooms and an outdoor deck featuring a plunge pool. The interiors are adorned with traditional northern Thai arts and crafts, and the bathrooms come fitted with custom-made bathtubs.
The move forms part of the resort’s efforts to attract more families to the remote destination. One of the main draw cards for younger visitors is the ability to interact with elephants, and Four Seasons partners with the Golden Triangle Asian Elephant Foundation to ensure that the animals’ welfare is protected.
