UK firm Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced that it is to run a complimentary shuttle service between the cruise terminal, bus station and Liverpool Lime St Station as part of its 2013 increased presence in the city.
The service, which will run hourly, is another sign of the significance Liverpool has for Fred. Olsen, which has one of the highest number of cruise calls due to the city’s Pier Head terminal in 2013, with 10 departures on a range of itineraries.
“We are delighted to be able to offer guests the chance to cruise from the world-famous Pier Head in Liverpool in 2013, with its iconic vistas and vibrant atmosphere,” said Nathan Philpot, Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ sales and marketing director. “We are now making it even easier for guests to cruise with us through this complimentary shuttle service, and we look forward to welcoming our loyal Merseyside customers aboard Boudicca next year.”
Boudicca will be offering a wide range of cruise itineraries from Liverpool in 2013, of varying durations – from a 12-night Canary Islands cruise in April 2013 to a four-night mini-cruise in August 2013.
The company will also be offering cruises from Belfast and Harwich, meaning that 80% of the UK’s population will be within two hours drive of an embarkation port.
