Freezing conditions in southern China are threatening to throw thousands of Chinese travellers’ New Year travel plans into chaos. Rail services in Sichuan province have already been affected by heavy snow and ice on the tracks, while the Beijing-Kunming Expressway was forced to close for three hours on Sunday.
