Air traffic controllers in France have called off the rest of a six-day strike following talks with the French government.
Disruption is still expected today as airlines look to bring schedules back to normal, following three days of cancellations and delays.
More than 400 flights were cancelled yesterday alone, with flights flying over French airspace also facing delays throughout the period.
easyJet said on its website: “The French Air Traffic Controllers strike has been cancelled from this morning so we are expecting a fairly normal operating day today. The level of disruption caused over the last two days is likely to have some knock on effect throughout today, so regrettably we could still see a number of delays while we fully recover, but we are working hard to minimise any impact to our customers.”
However as the French settled its industrial action ATCs in Belgium commenced a series of two-hour walkouts over a 24-hour period.
The first strike commenced at 18.45 last night and lasted until 20.45 and led to cancellations for today including Brussels Airline’s service from Heathrow to Brussels.
