New strikes have commenced at Lufthansa for the next two days.
The airline has warned that the pilots strike will ‘severely disrupt’ short and medium-haul flights starting this afternoon and running until 23.59 tomorrow.
Long-haul services will operate as usual today although passengers have still been urged to check flight status.
The strike is from the Vereinigung Cockpit (VC) union that has previously taken industrial action against the carrier.
In a statement yesterday Lufthansa labelled the action as ‘totally incomprehensible and disproportionate’ and also called for the need to review strike laws in Germany.
