Freudenberg Group has announced that it plans to tap the growing market for airport acoustics in India.
The announcement follows successful implementation of acoustic design and solutions at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai, Amritsar Airport in Punjab and most recently Delhi International Airport’s T3 terminal.
Built around SoundTex, a high performance acoustic nonwoven that blocks noise of planes and traffic outside from penetrating the terminal building, the solution ensures a relaxed and comfortable environment for the 34 million passengers expected to pass through the terminal each year.
According to the analysts, air travel in India could be handling between 150 and 180 million passengers per year by 2020 compared with the current figure of approximately 70 million.
