Garuda launches in-flight visas for Japanese travelers

Garuda Indonesia, in cooperation with the Indonesian immigration office, has launched an onboard visa application service on its flights from Japan. According to a Jakarta Post report, the first ‘visa on board’ service was operated on Thursday, carrying approximately 180 tourists from Tokyo’s Narita International Airport to Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali. Two immigration officers will be stationed on all Garuda flights from Japan to process the visa applications, the report added.
