A series of high-profile figures will come together on Crystal Cruises’ 2014 World Cruise, to take part in a series of panel discussions.
The line-up includes diplomats, political figures, news correspondents and military veterans, who will go head-to-head aboard three segments of next year’s 89-day luxury cruise aboard the Crystal Serenity liner.
Joining the 18 January 2014 trans-Pacific cruise from Los Angeles to Yokohama will be James Bradley, author of the bestselling book, ‘Flags of Our Fathers’, which was based on his own father’s at Iwo Jima. He will be joined by Richard Roth, CNN’s senior UN correspondent who covered the Arab Spring, and General Anthony Zinni (Ret), who led US troops in more than 70 countries and has since become and author and diplomat.
Then on the Singapore-Cape Town leg of the cruise, commencing on 10 March, Crystal Serenity will play host to British conservative political Edwina Currie and Tony Leon, the former leader of South Africa’s Opposition Party.
Finally, the 28 March cruise from Cape Town to London will be joined by BBC broadcaster Sue MacGregor, former president of the American Foreign Service Association Tex Harris, and former editor of the Los Angeles Times, Shelby Coffey.
“Ocean Views offers our guests a fantastic opportunity to witness – and participate in – the intellectual sparring that occurs when great minds come together for open discussion,” said Bret Bullock, Crystal’s vice president of entertainment. “Regardless of what side of the aisle one may fall upon, this roster of dynamic, opinionated speakers is certain to inspire lively conversation long after guests leave the theater.”
The Ocean Views sessions, as the debates are known, were launched by Crystal in 2011.
