Global Hotel Alliance forms new loyalty scheme
The Global Hotel Alliance (GHA) has launched a new combined guest loyalty programme – GHA Discovery. The new initiative unites 12 independent luxury hotel brands, including Pan Pacific, Anantara, Mirvac, Leela, Kempinski and Marco Polo, to deliver an experience-based rewards scheme, instead of the traditional points-based system. The local experiences vary by membership level Gold, Platinum and Black. Gold level members can learn to play traditional drums in the Maldives, or take a sunset drive through a nature reserve in Namibia. Platinum level members can watch a rugby match in New Zealand or rehearse for carnival at a samba school in Sao Paulo, while Black level members can experience elephant trekking in Thailand or be a panda keeper in Hong Kong. Other property benefits, which also vary by membership level, include complimentary newspapers and internet, room upgrades, early check-in/late check-out and guaranteed availability.
“GHA Discovery gives us the opportunity to provide international travellers. access to incredible local experiences worth talking about when they return home”, said A. Patrick Imbardelli, President & Chief Executive of Pan Pacific Hotels Group.
