Thedeal will see Octopus provide SIA with worldwide hotel and apartment content inforty marketsacross the globe. Singapore Airlines said the move would ensure its onlinecustomers have a “broad choice in travel products through tailored solutions”.Each of the 40 country-specific websites wil operate in local languages andallow payment in local currencies. The deal will also see OctopusTravelproviding the airline’scustomers with dedicated call centres across the globe for telephone sales aswell as ground booking queries. OctopusTravel Asia-Pacific regional directorErnst Hemmer said the firm was thrilled to be chosen by SIA as its onlinepartner. He said the deal “clearly emphasises that established network airlinesrecognise the tremendousgrowth opportunities in global online travel”. OctopusTravel operates 27offices around the globe and offers real-time availability and confirmations in34 languages for 21,000 hotels and 3,000 apartments in 129 countries.
