Six airlines from across the globe have started a new transatlantic joint venture. bmi, Lufthansa, United Airlines, Air Canada, Swiss International Airlines and Austrian Airlines have started to take bookings for the cross-sale terms and provide more connections from European cities into North America, the Middle East, Africa and Indian subcontinent.
Travel agents will be able to book a combination of flights and all prices have been aligned to allow more consumer choice.
“bmi always puts customers at the forefront of all business activity and this transatlantic joint venture gives customers more flexibility and a much wider offer to meet their needs: customers can combine different airlines and transfer airports to get to their desired destination,” said Frank Van den Steen, general manager international sales at bmi.
