Google’s head of travel Nigel Huddleston has been announced as the keynote speaker at UKinbound’s Convention next month.
Huddleston will join the UK’s inbound tourism sector at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool from 5-7 February to deliver his speech at the ‘Dawn of a New Era’-themed conference.
BBC Breakfast’s Bill Turnbull will return as moderator for the conference, which will include an update by Visit Blackpool’s Phil Welsh; Yellow Railroad’s Tom Buncle; Deloitte’s Graham Pickett and Mark Frary from Travel Perspective.
Workshops and seminars will also take place including the latest development of the TOMS ruling and changes in the China market from Capela Training’s Gary Grieve.
Given the amount of changes that have been made to Blackpool in recent years, the seaside resort is naturally gearing up to show its best during the two-day event.
Councillor Graham Cain, Blackpool Council Cabinet Member for Tourism and Leisure said: “This is a great opportunity to showcase our fantastic resort to tour operators from all over the UK who, in turn, will then pass the word on to their international clients helping us to attract overseas visitors. We already attract tourists from overseas every year with our major events such as dance festivals, the World Matchplay Darts, Showzam! and the annual Magic Convention.”
The resort hopes the event will lead to more international tourists heading to its shores.
Delegates of the show will take part in a fam trip visiting the Blackpool Pleasure Beach and Blackpool Tower.
