Gulf Air will return to Bangladesh next month with the launch of a new direct service to Dhaka.
Effective 30 May, Bahrain’s national carrier will operate five weekly flights between Manama and Dhaka, running every day except Friday and Sunday.
Gulf Air’s South Asian network also includes eight destinations in India and seven in Pakistan, plus services to Sri Lanka and Nepal.
“We are pleased to reconnect Dhaka with Bahrain, boosting the significant commercial opportunity that exists for businessmen from both Bahrain and the Bangladeshi capital while facilitating the movement of Bangladeshi nationals,” said Ahmed Janahi, Gulf Air’s acting chief commercial officer.
“This is a promising development in 2016 as we respond to strong passenger demand coupled with promising economic signs in Bangladesh. We feel it is just the right time for us to return and anticipate this new route will be a success for our passenger operations.”
Under the new schedule, flights will depart Bahrain at either 0100 or 2010, depending on the day of the week, and arrive in Dhaka at 0930 or 0440. The return services will then leave the Bangladeshi capital at 1030 or 0540, arriving back in Bahrain at 1325 or 0835.
