Overseas visitors to China’s resort island province of Hainan can now claim tax refunds on their holiday purchases, Xinhua has reported. The scheme, which launched on 1 January 2011, enables tourists shopping at three of the province’s largest malls to receive an 11% rebate on goods purchased within 90 days of their departure date. The offer is valid for all international tourists, including those from Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan.
