Hainan to upgrade tourism standards

Hainan is planning a major drive to clean up its tourism industry. According to a Xinhua report, the provincial government is stepping up efforts to combat problems such as poor service standard, overcharging and ‘dumping’ of tour groups deemed unprofitable. The move follows the Chinese government’s announcement that it plans to after build Hainan into a top international destination by 2020.
