Hawaiian Airlines continued its strong performance in March 2011, with passenger demand keeping pace with its capacity expansion. Traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles (RPM), increased 20.6% year-on-year, on a 22.1% rise in available seat miles (ASM). This kept load factors at a strong 85.0% for the month, just 1.1 percentage points down on March 2010. Hawaiian recently announced that it will not cut capacity to Japan in the aftermath of the recent disasters, and is still on track to launch Honolulu-Osaka flights later this year.
