The Hotel Booking Agents Association (HBAA) has warned that events planners in London now need to log events with the respective local borough. Under new guidelines, details of events and meetings that attract more than 500 people in 2012 will need to be supplied to the borough by 31 March 2011. The new rules have been launched to provide London enough time to plan how it will handle traffic, crowds and security. “We are keen to ensure that our membership is fully conversant with 2012’s licensing system and the imminent deadlines,” said Peter Ducker, executive director at HBAA. “It is also key that the industry is aware of the measures and the impacts these will have in agencies and venues with facilities that can host more than 500 guests.”
